i don't even make close to $235,000 a year, but i am defintely a fortunate american who has a nice home, food, access to a good education for my kids, health insurance, etc.

i was raised by parents who made good money and firmly believed in "giving back to the community that has helped us get this comfortable", financially and with volunteering our time and skills. i am so glad to see that there are wealthy people who have the same values, morals, decency, and goals that i was raised with and that i am passing along to my own children.

keep up the GOOD work!!!!

I applaud the artical by Arul Menezes that appeared in the Tampa Tribune, August 9, 2009. We live in a society that bestow on us many benefits and yet many think they don't owe the government anything for all of these benefits. I have several friends who are very wealthy and do nothing but complain about their taxes. When you mention their social security and medicare benefits their response is that these are entitlements and they have paid for them through taxes. True we all pay these taxes, but they do not nearly cover the cost of the health care received over a life time.

As the article of Mr. Menezes mentions, we receive so many benefits in the form of education, parks, bridges, etc.,that are not appreciated by most and simply expected.

We have become a greedy society an to few are willing to do their part.

Again Mr. Menezes, a great article.

Respectfully,

George Krout
